Award winning chef Murray Wilson has started a new role in Leeds after leaving Horto at Rudding Park, Harrogate

Yorkshire-born Murray has joined Crafthouse and Angelica in Leeds as Executive Head Chef, bringing with him more than 12 years of award-winning, global experience.

Murray, who has a passion for refined and precise cooking, joins Crafthouse and Angelica from Rudding Park Hotel where he was Executive Chef at Horto, which was awarded 3AA stars under his direction.

His career began at Gordon Ramsay at Claridge’s, Mayfair, London before moving back north to Harrogate to fulfil the role of Head Chef at Hotel du Vin, Harrogate. This was followed by an appearance on Masterchef- The Professionals, where he reached the finals and a stint across the pond in Canada putting his Yorkshire stamp on prestigious restaurants.

Murray says, “Crafthouse has such a well-respected reputation and I’m looking forward to adding my influence to its legacy. I’m planning on using good produce properly, allowing the flavours to shine through using classic techniques.”

Murray has already began making subtle but exciting changes to Crafthouse’s dishes, with new menus set to launch in August.
