Eight Yorkshire restaurants have made it into the top 100 in the UK.

Top, at number 29 was the Michelin-starred Black Swan at Oldstead.

At 40 was Skosh in York and at 42 was Tommy Banks’s second restaurant in the list Roots at York which only opened last year.

Burlington at the Devonshire Arms was at 46, Michael Wignall’s The Angel Inn at Hetton came in 49th place and Michelin-starred Man Behind the Curtain in Leeds came in 91st.

Restaurant Joro in Sheffield and Le Cochon Aveugle in York were 94th and 95th respectively.

The Restaurant magazine awards are voted for by an elite academy of chefs, restaurateurs and food writers nationwide and announced the Estrella Damm National Restaurant Awards which took place on Monday.
