Italian restaurant brand Gusto will open the doors to its first Leeds city centre restaurant this week. To whet diners’ appetites, Gusto have revealed details of their impressive new menu for the first time.

The restaurant brand is investing over £1 million in the 6,700 sq ft restaurant and bar, which will be the third in the UK to feature a stylish new ‘grand café’ design along with an extensive menu and over 100 cocktails.

The popular grand cafés of Europe are renowned for beautifully created classic dishes and simple elegance. Combining classic and contemporary Italian influences the menu uses fresh, carefully selected, simple ingredients to offer a superb choice of culinary delights to suit all palates and occasions.

Diners will also be able to select from a wide choice of classic Italian dishes for which Gusto is renowned.

The new 160 cover venue is located in Pennine House, Greek Street, occupying what was formerly Henry’s Bar. This will be the second Gusto restaurant for Leeds and follows the success of its Cookridge venue, which has been a firm favourite with food-lovers since opening in 2008. The new city centre Gusto aims to draw customers in with its modern twist on Italian brasserie classics, chic décor and romantic ambience.

Managing Director of Gusto, Sue Crimes, said: “This is a very exciting time for Gusto – we are delighted to be opening a second restaurant in Leeds. Gusto is evolving as a brand and whilst we have changed the style of the décor a little and changed the logo, the new Gusto has everything that our customers have come to expect from us and a little bit more – great food, excellent service and a good night out.”

“Leeds city centre’s restaurant scene is in a period of enormous growth and we felt the time was right to introduce Gusto to the city.  The casual dining sector is well catered for in Leeds, so we feel there is definitely room for a high-quality, sophisticated venue, particularly on Greek Street where we expect to see a lot of interest from the business community.”
