A new pool bar is set to open by the end of June.
The old Lounge bar and grill on Merrion street has been totally stripped back, with red brick walls, slate floors and several pool tables, and perhaps some outdoor games to entertain punters.
The new venue has been transformed  into a dedicated pool bar called Slate by the people behind Roxy Ballroom.
Slate will be the eighth addition to the Jones Bar Group portfolio, which already includes Roxy Lanes, Brooklyn Bar and LAB.
Leeds brothers Matt, 34, and Ben, 29, are behind the Jones Bar Group, which have taken on the venue.
They are launching the venues new look by the end of this month.
Matt said: ““It’s a trend that has come back around and by introducing an activity, it adds that third element of surprise and another reason to go somewhere,”
“This area is the best place to go out in Leeds at the moment. Call Lane is still hugely busy with tourists and out-of-towners but the Northern Quarter is very much Leeds people.
The drinks menu will include cocktails, real ales, beer and wine, and the food will be similar to the offering at LAB, with pizzas and meat boards.
