Grenache Blanc is a variety with peachy, ripe pear notes, citrus freshness and enough weight to cope with roast chicken.

Yalumba Y Viognier 2017, Australia, 13.5%, Booths, down from £10 to £8 until 7 May

Sunshine and apricots in a glass, this is a wine to team with creamy fish dishes or pasta.

Dark Horse Malbec 2017, California, 13.5%, Asda down from £8.48 to £7 until April 24  

This Californian Malbec is soft and supple, and stacked full of blackberry and plum fruit.  Try it with sausages or steak.

Famille Perrin Les Cardinaux 2016, Rhône, 13.5%, Co-op, down from £10 to £8 until 14 May

A simple Rhône wine from the same family who own the famous Ch. de Beaucastel in Châteauneuf-du-Pape.  Warm, dark fruits with spice and a rounded, full finish.  A bargain.
