Time running out to taste 'born to die' craft beer

A Leeds-based brewery is partnering with craft beer revolutionists this month to showcase a beer that only has a 35-day lifespan
City centre based Northern Monk Refectory is the only independent venue in the North of England to showcase an exclusive batch of Brewdog’s Born to Die Imperial IPA. The beer, described as a ticking hoppy time bomb, has just 35 days to expire to keep it at optimum freshness.
The beer is available in 660ml bomber bottles and keg until July 7.
The expiry date concept has never been done by a UK brewery before and promises to delight craft beer fans.
Northern Monk owner Russell Bissett said: “Stone were one of our early inspirations and when BrewDog approached us to launch their Born To Die series inspired by the Stone Enjoy By IPA we were more than happy to host them. We like to celebrate British breweries at our Refectory tap room alongside a selection of our own beers and it’s great to have the opportunity to showcase a beer from BrewDog that pushes the boundaries of the UK brewing scene and continues to progress the market here.”
Brewdog’s Northern Sales Manager Russ Clarke added: “We absolutely love fresh beer and know that our customers are demanding more than the industrially brewed lagers and stuffy ales that dominate the UK market.
“This idea was first coined by American brewery Stone and their “Enjoy By” series and I’m delighted that Stone are impressed with our UK version and will be providing their own beers alongside us at this one off event.”
