Gluten, sugar and dairy free - what more could you ask? It is the most famous Brazilian sweet treat and the perfect 'free from' dessert.

  • 250g cashew nut butter
  • 50g coconut milk, full fat
  • 20 dates, soaked in water for a 1 hour
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 4 tbsp coconut palm sugar
  • 50g cocoa nibs, pour out into a small, shallow bowl


  1. Using a food processor with a “S” shape blade, mix all the ingredients together until a smooth paste is formed.
  2. Ensuring you have dry hands, shape each tbsp of the thick mixture into balls. 
  3. Next roll the balls into the cocoa nibs and serve in candy cases.
  4. Finally, enjoy and store in the fridge or freezer for an emergency sweet, chocolatey snack or gluten, sugar and dairy ‘free from’ dessert.
