The Chequer's Inn is celebrating after being nominated for two prestigious awards

This month The Chequer’s Inn at Bilton-in-Ainsty has been nominated for both a national pub industry award and a regional tourism award.

The Chequer’s, is part of the Ainsty Group LLP which is a group of Yorkshire inns and restaurants that is dedicated to locally sourced produce.

The first of these nominations is from the Publican Morning Advertiser’s Great British Pub Awards. They have selected the chequers inn for the ‘Best Wine Bar/ Pub’ category.

The Great British Pub Awards are held nationally with finalists from each region, The Chequers Inn will be representing Yorkshire at the event.

The category itself aims to give recognition to bars/pubs with a an excellent and profitable wine offer which has helped made the business a success in the past year.

The second nomination the pub has received is part of the local White Rose Awards. The Chequer’s Inn is one of six nominees selected for the ‘Yorkshire Pub of the Year Category.’

The category aims to acknowledge and showcase the world-beating quality and variety of Yorkshire pubs, and recognises the pun which most effectively represents the best of Yorkshire to its customers.

The Great British Pub Awards will be held on the 10th of September in London.  The White Rose Awards will follow being held in Autumn this year.
