Hilton Leeds City invites rugby fans to explore the world’s flavours as it unveils an internationally inspired menu celebrating the World Cup being hosted in England.

Available during September and October, fans will be able to try the menu of international dishes, bar snacks and global wines, beers and ales.

As well as nail-biting clashes, the World Cup is a chance to celebrate culture and global cuisine, and Hilton Leeds City has a specially selected line-up of new dishes from around the world.

Dishes have all been inspired by participating nations (each dish from £10), with options including:

  • Don your jersey and show your British pride with London Pride battered haddock fillet, chunky chips and tartare sauce
  • Kick off with a South African Boerewors roll with caramelised onions, apple, ale and chilli chutney
  • Savour a scrummy chargrilled Argentinian sirloin steak baguette with chimichurri and fried onions
  • Tackle a U.S. classic with the pulled pork brioche bap with BBQ sauce and homemade fennel, apple, red cabbage slaw
  • Try the grilled beef burger topped with Welsh Caerphilly cheese and bacon with spicy tomato relish
  • Maul a proper British Abbots Ale and steak pie served with soft mash
  • Convert to Italy with a stone-baked Italian Margherita pizza
  • Throw in a quintessentially French beef Bourguignon with creamed potatoes

Progress257_Aug 03 2015Whether you have a globetrotting palette or are just looking to sink your teeth into the spirit of things, kick off with a selection of bar nibbles including biltong – a dried, cured jerky from South Africa – in four different flavours; BBQ chicken wings; jerk pork spare ribs: traditional English pork scratchings; plus pretzels, wasabi peas and Joe & Seph’s flavoured popcorn – all ideal half-time snacks.

Alongside the food offering, the drinks will convert even the most traditional of tastes.

Wines truly traverse the globe with Chenin Blanc from South Africa, Australian Chardonnay, French Pinot Noir, and Argentinian Malbec alongside ice-cold beers from the UK, Italy, Australia, and New Zealand – the current title-holders.

Anthony Worrall, director of food and beverage, UK&I at Hilton Worldwide, said: “With hotels in nearly every key game city, Hilton is the perfect place to tuck into dinner and drinks before each game; catch up over post-match pints; or pitch up and catch play on the TVs with a drink in-hand and a selection of bar snacks to munch on.”

“Rugby supporters wishing to stay close to games are encouraged to book directly as soon as possible via our website, mobile app or on the phone to guarantee accommodation at the best possible price.”

“Fans booking with Hilton can download the room app to locate and book rooms overlooking sporting venues.”
