Gino D'Acampo cooks up a taste of Italy in York

Chef, TV personality and best-selling author Gino D’Acampo is to tour the UK with a live stage show which will blend his love of Italy, some delicious signature dishes and audience participation, in a typically lively theatre show this autumn.
Fun-loving Gino will take the audience on a journey through Italy, demonstrating how to cook some of his favourite dishes from his popular series, Gino’s Italian Escape – a third series of which will be on our screens in November. He also plans to put audience members through their paces as selected fans are invited to join him on stage. One thing is for sure with Gino…you can expect the unexpected!
Gino regularly appears on ITV’s This Morning and has presented two series of Gino’s Italian Escape, with a third scheduled for November this year. Each series is also accompanied by a book documenting the ingredients and mouthwatering recipes from each show.

“The television show is just half an hour long and I could talk about Italy for hours and so I though why not put it into a live show. t is going to be great fun, but above all I want people to go away and next day buy some ingredients and get cooking,” says Gino who got his love of cooking from his grandfather who had a restaurant where a young Gino would help out in the kitchen.

Fans of Gino will love the live theatre show, which will feature a mix of cookery, Italian food tips and the chance to get up close and personal with the man himself. It promises to be nine nights of unexpected delight as it tours theatres across the UK, including York Barbican on 30 October .
“Italy offers some of the most wonderful cooking and foods – I can’t wait to meet audiences on my first ever theatre tour and share some of the fantastic food on a journey around my great country. It will be a fantastico evening!

“I am very much looking forward to coming to York. I have a restaurant Picolino’s there and I try to visit as often as I can.””
Tickets are £25.00 per person and are on sale now. Meet and greet packages are also available which include best seats in the house, a chance to meet Gino and a signed copy of his new book.
