Fresh from a major revamp at the start of the year involving a new open-plan bar area, plush marble bathrooms and a private dining and meeting space, the Prince of Wales on the outskirts of Sheffield city centre is also encouraging customers to maintain their own resolutions throughout 2019.

The upmarket but welcoming and family-friendly venue, which is near the fashionable Ecclesall Road and leafy Endcliffe Park, has taken the opportunity to bring in new dishes and drinks with a health and wellness theme.
In addition to an expanded vegan menu featuring lentil falafel and spiced coconut curry, the pub has launched a new range of high-protein, low-calorie dishes such as king prawn, crab and chorizo linguine and stir-fried beef fillet salad.
It has also created a new range of low and no-alcohol drink options, including Seedlip Garden 108, the world’s first distilled non-alcoholic spirit.
But those yet to join the vegan revolution or attempt to extend Dry January throughout the year need not fear.
Our party of four tucked into a delicious three-course meal, with highlights including a duck liver and port parfait starter, fillet steaks with ale-glazed shallot tarts, a wagyu burger and buttermilk southern-fried chicken.
The extensive drinks menu boasts a wide range of wine, beers, ciders and the ever more popular gins, along with specially-created cocktails.
