The Best Trentino Pinot Grigio 2017, Italy, 13%, Morrisons down from £7 to £6 until 27 November

This is how Pinot Grigio should taste.  Grown in the cool-climate Trentino region, this has pears, crisp apples and a touch of nectarine with a crisp finish.

Vasse Felix Filius Chardonnay 2017, Margaret River, Western Australia, 12.5%, Waitrose down from £12.99 to £9.99 until 27 November

Almost Chablis-like in style, this has clean, pure, uncluttered stone-fruit with crisp, minerally freshness. Team with prawns and grilled fish.

Famille Perrin Vinsobres 2016, Rhône, France, 13.5%, Booths down from £13.75 to £10.75 until 20 November

Vinsobres is one of the top villages of the Rhône where its altitude and cooler climate develops complexity in the grapes.  Look for blackberry fruit, layers of cherry, spice and supple tannins.

Late Bottled Vintage Port 2013, Portugal, 20%, Marks and Spencer, down from £13 to £11 until 31 December

A genuine, top-quality, rich-tasting, spice-edged gorgeous port.  Made by Taylor’s of Quinta de Vargellas fame, this is a Saturday night port, but is equally good after a brisk walk on a Sunday morning.
