Yorkshire food and drink takes centre stage for record crowds

It was a sizzling weekend for The Yorkshire Post Food and Drink Show  as crowds flocked to join the fun. Hundreds of people enjoyed the sunshine and the delicious dishes being cooked by some of the region’s top chefs. There was something for everyone in this the fifth year the show has run. More than 100 exhibitors chopped, sliced, fried and barbecued to record crowds determined to taste everything on offer.

Councillor Judith Blake, leader of Leeds City Council and executive member for economy and culture, said: “The Yorkshire Post Food and Drink Show has been a fantastic way to round off Leeds Food Month and it’s been wonderful to see so many people enjoying the event.

“Leeds Food Month has showcased some of the very best that the city has to offer from our local bars, restaurants and independent traders and has really demonstrated what a diverse and eclectic food and drink economy we have.

“We’re enjoying a real boom in the local bar and restaurant scene at the moment and Leeds is the place where everyone wants to be. That’s something we can all be very proud of and it’s fitting that we celebrate and enjoy it with events like this.”
