Our long time favourite restaurant, high up on the clifftop north of Whitby.

They may be moving soon, so go now while you still have the chance, it’s just brilliant.

Eat Me Cafe , Scarborough

We’ve found Scarborough hard to love for eating out, but this fabulous seaside caff blew us away.

From Tin Plate lunches, omelettes, burgers, rarebits and pies – it hits the spot every time.

Bridge Cottage Cafe Bar, Sandsend

When the sun shines you can sit beneath a parasol among drifts of lavender and enjoy a light lunch then come the evening, cosy up inside for Alex Perkins top seaside fish dishes.

Green’s, Whitby

When you’ve done the Magpie and you’re ready for something more fishy and less battered, (though we will allow you their salt and pepper squid), then head for Green’s over the bridge.

Turbot, red snapper, red mullet, boiullabaise and various fish specials come out of Rob Green’s kitchen.

Magpie Cafe, Whitby

Everyone knows it, everyone writes about it, and it remains Whitby’s best chippie and a lot more besides.

Brave the queues and bag a table for cockles, mussels, scallops and scampi. They have sole and hake and lobster thermidor but why the dithering when they do the best fish and chips in town.
