For 100 days this summer diners will be able to enjoy a taste of Provence at a unique event being held by the Feversham Arms Hotel and Verbena Spa. The luxury hotel in the heart of Yorkshire has revealed it will once again be opening its courtyard to serve up a taste of the Mediterranean.

The exciting event will see an outdoor restaurant created on the top terrace in the famous Feversham courtyard where diners will be able to enjoy the surroundings of the Verbena Spa and pool at the hotel in Helmsley, whilst their taste buds are whisked away for a tour of Provencal cuisine.

It’s the second year running the hotel has hosted the event but organisers said the last 100 Days of Provence was such a success they were excited to be able to hold it again.

Charles Merchie, general manager of the hotel, said: “Provence is such a picturesque region and we at the Feversham Arms Hotel and Verbena Spa believe our surroundings also have that feeling of luxury and relaxation.

“Diners will be able to enjoy the glorious setting of our terrace, which is a delightful spot all year round, but particularly great in the summer, as well as what is set to be a delicious menu. Last year’s event was a great success and I am sure visitors will embrace this next one as well.”

This year’s menu will feature a range of Provencal cuisine, which blends intense flavours and simple ingredients. And with the region being located near the Mediterranean Sea in south east France, the food is influenced by neighbouring Italy, with much emphasis being placed on sun-ripened vegetables, seafood, fresh herbs and a liberal helping of olive oil on most dishes.

Charles Merchie added: “We have designed a menu that will be served from our main kitchen by our passionate team of chefs. It will feature fantastic Provencal cuisine including marinated heritage tomato served with warm, crispy mozzarella and sweet basil, half lobster and ramson aioli, Caesar salad and julienne fries and a Mangalitza neck steak dish with herb salsa and Yukon gold wedges. To sum up it will be a delicious and varied menu.”

The 100 Days in Provence is set to run from Friday, June 12, to Sunday, September 20, between noon and 5pm.
